THE PAST FEW MONTHS COULD EASILY be called "showroom season"--a period in which teeming crowds of auto manufacturer reps, journalists, and car aficionados could be found at events from Detroit to Geneva. All have been revved up by sneak peeks of hundreds of the latest models accented by style, functionality, connected technology, and fuel efficiency. This month thousands will descend on the New York International Auto Show to continue this review--and black enterprise will be there.

AUDI is unveiling models the manufacturer describes as "smart, stunning, and agile." Front and center is the S3 sedan (pictured) which offers "a combination of timeless European design, progressive technology, and premium luxury." Among its features: Optional full LED headlights, Quattro all-wheel drive, Audi connect, MMI touch, and a Bang & Olufsen sound system. Another model, the Audi Q3 Crossover, with its sport-tuned chassis, stresses versatility, impressive handling and response, and intuitive technology.

BMW The carmaker has trumpeted the BMW i3 (pictured) as its first electric car that offers a sustainable design and emission-free mobility. Its novel BMW eDrive is eco-friendly and offers a relaxing, nearly silent driving experience. Another hot model that the manufacturer offers is the BMW X5, complete with BMW EfficientDynamics, which "combines efficiency and driving pleasure with the aim of approaching the ultimate goal of zero-emissions mobility."

LAND ROVER Range Rover Evoque (pictured) offers two new limited editions--the luxurious Autobiography and the more powerful, more agile Autobiography Dynamic--which offer heightened elegance. Beyond the enhanced body styling and premium leather interior, you will discover a suite of connected-car technologies: InControl Apps enables vehicle-optimized smartphone apps to be displayed and controlled from the vehicle's touch screen. The Range Rover Sport is also designed and engineered for optimal performance that makes it adaptable to even the most demanding terrain and conditions.
