Not only is there an increase among recruiters using social media to find employees, data show that companies are sourcing more qualified candidates and in return stronger hires, says Joshua Waldman, owner of Career Enlightenment (www.careerenlightenment.com), a company that provides strategies for successful job searches online.
CONSIDER THE STATS:
* 54% used Twitter: 66% used Facebook; and 93% used LinkedIn for recruiting
* In the Social Recruiting survey by Jobvite, 64% of recruiters said they made successful hires through social networks or social media in 2011, compared with 58% in 2010
* 95% reported that they have made a hire through LinkedIn
Although recruiters rely on all forms of social media, they are increasingly directing searches through LinkedIn, says Waldman.
