Because we do business in a global society, we can no longer examine growth opportunities from a single perspective, as is evident in a new report by Catalyst entitled The Ripple Effect: What's Good for Women Is Good for the World. The study finds that improving the lives of women in society strongly correlates to a better quality of life and access for women, but also to improved societal conditions--such as an increase in a country's GDP. It reported that although regional differences uniquely affect the challenges women face concerning advancement, the drivers for change throughout the world are the same:
Women have to be engaged fully and fairly in the workforce.
There have to be improvements in women accessing education.
Barriers that prevent women from fully participating in society have to be removed.
